Philips passion for
flying started when he gained his glider license
at the tender age of sixteen and by seventeen was
a qualified private pilot. Having studied Aeronautical
Engineering at Imperial College London, he then
served nine years with the Army Air Corps flying
helicopters and the Beaver aeroplane in Northern
Ireland, Germany and Norway.

More recently
Philip has gained a reputation as the pilot of choice
for some of the worlds best sports photographers
and cameramen, covering the prestigious Fastnet
race, offshore powerboat races and the Top Gear
Safari rally in Kenya which resulted in some extraordinary
footage despite the demanding flying conditions.
His flying skills and ability to understand the
vigorous requirements of aerial filming have lead
to a great expansion in the amount of film and television
work now conducted by RotorMotion.
His career
to date has encompassed a broad range of aircraft
from the Boeing 737 commercial jet and Hawker Siddley
748 turboprop to many helicopter types. It is not
only his passion for flying that forms the basis
of the professionalism that RotorMotion offers,
but also the wide range of flying disciplines that
his career has demanded of him. From flying charities
in the heat of the African desert and the rugged
terrain of the Ethiopian Highlands, piloting the
air ambulance for the Isle of Man TT races to Arctic
flying in Greenland and Scandinavia, his extensive
experience has not only won him prizes at the World
Helicopter Championships, but also makes his depth
of aviation experience invaluable to the company.
When not flying,
Philip spends his time playing polo, climbing
mountains and surfing both the waves and the web.
As managing director
of RotorMotion, Philip brings this wealth of experience
to every facet of the company's activities, ensuring
a high quality, professional service every time
you take off.
